Christ has sent the Holy Spirit to work in our lives.  The Spirit works with non believers, calling them to relationship with Jesus.  The Spirit works even more powerfully in believers, being our connection with God.  The Spirit calls scriptures to mind when needed, gives us comfort and the assurance of God’s presence with us, helps us to see sin in our lives of which we need to repent, and is constantly molding us to become the people God created us to be.

Confession

Gracious God, You have given us the glorious gift of Your presence with us always the the power of Your Spirit dwelling within us.  Yet too often we take You for granted.  We presume on Your forgiveness, instead of truly turning away from our sin.  When the Spirit calls us to action we aren’t always quick to respond.  We don’t listen to Your correction.  Forgive us, and rekindle the flame of Your Spirit within us.
