Rejoicing in Christ

Passage: Psalm 148, Luke 2:22-40
Service Type:

Simeon and Anna had both received divine revelation about the baby they encountered in the temple.  They spread rejoicing to those around them that God had fulfilled in this child the prophecies of the coming of the Messiah.  Too often we don’t praise God as much as we should.  We don’t look at what God is doing around us to say thank you.  We don’t just thank God for Being God, as the psalmist does.

Lord, our creator and redeemer, we don’t take the time we should to remember Your mighty and glorious deeds.  We don’t stop to think about the wonder that the God who made the universe loves us as individuals and wants the best for us.  We take You for granted.  We don’t spend enough time praising You and giving You all glory and honor.  Forgive us, and keep us always mindful of You.
