Matthew tells of a large crowd gathered to hear Jesus in an out of the way location.  It grows late and Jesus miraculously provides food  for the whole crowd from very meager offerings.  The Genesis reading tells of Jacob returning home to try and reconcile with a brother who when they last met was planning to kill him.  During the night before the reunion “a man wrestles with Jacob all night.

God meets us where our need is whether food for the hungry, or struggling in faith.
