Losing Our Way

Passage: Jeremiah 4:11-12, 22-28, Luke 15:1-10
Service Type:

Jeremiah speaks of the destruction that comes because Israel has not listened to God.  He foresees a dead land.  But God says the destruction is not total, and He will revive a remnant.  Jesus speaks of how God rejoices when someone who is lost listens and returns to God.

Disobedience leads to death and darkness, but God longs to restore us to light and life.

God, our redeemer. too often we don’t listen to You.  We ignore the promptings of Your Spirit.  We lose our way.  Even when You call us back, we don’t always listen.  Even though we know that disobedience leads to death, we go our way.  Yet You are the God who never gives up on us.  Open our ears to Your voice, that we may repent, turning back to You.
