Living in Faith

Pastor:
Passage: Hebrews 11:29-12-2, Luke 13:1-9

Hebrews reminds us to look to the example of all those who kept faith with God, even before the coming of Christ.  He says that now that we have the gift of forgiveness we should be more ready to follow in faith.  In Luke Jesus issues a call to repentance and warns that God may do some fertilizing and pruning to prepare us to follow faithfully.

God gives us the example of those who have gone before, as well as the work of the Spirit to enable us to live in faith.

Confession

God, our creator and redeemer, You call on us to bear fruit for Your Kingdom, but too often we have been content to keep to ourselves instead of sharing Your love.  You call us to be a witness for You, but there are times we hide our light under a basket.  Your Spirit works to enable us, and we resist.  Forgive us, help us to live out our Faith to Your glory.
