Paul warns the Romans that the day of Christ’s return is rapidly approaching, and Christians need to wake up and behave accordingly. Jesus warns his followers that His return will be unexpected, so they should be ready at all times. Christians should not grow so complacent about Christ’s return that we fail to daily renew our relationship with Christ and seek to live as if today will be the last chance we have to be Christians
We need to take seriously the calls to watch and be ready for Christ’s return.
Gracious God, you have given us commandments about how we should live. Yet too often we take for granted Your forgiveness and mercy. We sometimes do the wrong thing, trusting that you will forgive a minor fault. We rank sins and think the minor ones are okay to commit. We forget that anything that separates us from You is not good for our relationship. Forgive us, and help us always to maintain our fellowship with You.
